Does anyone see a reason against, or a way to abuse, these features if they were available from the web?
A) a way to see what players are in the game
B) a way to see what players have been on today?
C) a way to see what players have been on this month?
D) a way to see what players have been on this year?
E) a way to read the Mortal Message Board from the net?
Any other ideas for server stuff? Not too much please since this is not a mud server. Its an ISP server with hundreds of accounts, email, a couple dozen domains, many online multiplayer games, and at least 2 online worlds.

A) Does not seem to take into account immortal invis level. Probably not an issue nowdays.
I wouldnt mind seeing tick rates over time and start up time, handy if something is causing issues.

D) This year? I'd say anything over two months can be considered inactive, not sure what the use beyond 60-odd days would be.
First thing I do when I get on is seeing whether the portal to Ravenloft is in the game. Maybe add its existence (and possibly its location? or would that require too many updates?). I must say someone's been diligently loading it of late - thanks!

on (A) If it was "on now" then invis would be a big factor so people couldnt rush in and shout beggings
on (B) Im not sure if invis would matter on "today" if its not "now".
(C)(D) Even if it was all of this year, it would help generate some interest I think. People would like to see who has wandered back, and how many there are. And invis wouldnt matter on that one.
(E) as long as its watched. I dont want anyone spamming me. But it might get some of the "hearts" people (socialers) to watch and jump in sooner to answer questions that are posted.

Options would be Maxum changing the code to write something external (definitely not include location OR it could be done inside the game by a Bot. Various people bot and use some frequent command to keep themselves active. Changing that to a search for the portal and writing the results out to a file would be simple.

If you use a bot, use a level 51 so that they can see through hide, and disguise. If not the who list would not show "everyone".

I wouldnt use a bot to do it. And a god would not be allowed to by the rules. I only meant that IF someone you knew was using a bot in the game then they COULD make it happen and get away with it (as long as they didnt advertise the fact that they were running a bot against the rules)
Now if SETH ever came back then something like that might be added in but it still wouldnt include hidden people.
