Wasnt the issue because it dropped to a different room? Otherwise there would be items all over the place....

Correct, it drops to a room that has already been cleared of items. It potentially happens in Water Plane as well. There is code in place to remove items after they have fallen 100 rooms in the case of looping areas like that though. The change just means that item clearance does not start until after all the mobs have been cleared.

Bug. You are fighting a mob and it flees. You enter room and bash the mob. In the same round the mob flees again. Bash not properly registering delay in this instance.

Bash is registering fine, it appears that when you have wimpy set (mob or player) you get that extra chance to flee when a special attack is called (kick, bash etc). Change to hit or attack when this happens so you get full weapon damage on the mob, instead of just the 2 points bash does.
